At the International Petroleum Museum & Exposition on the Riverfront you can our the historic rig “Mr. Charlie”- the first of its kind to drill in the Gulf of Mexico - and learn about the oil industry, the oil rig, and the industry’s beginnings in the Gulf. Named after Louisiana’s aviation pioneers, Wedell-Williams State Aviation Museum depicts Louisiana's aviation history and achievements in aviation and aerospace. You’ll see exhibits of aircraft, such as President Eisenhower's Aero-Commander 680 and a replica of the "44" racer, and displays of 1930’s air race trophies.

Enjoy a tour of Cypress Manor/Mardi Gras Museum, a turn-of-the-century estate that depicts the lifestyles of early 1900's and contains an elaborate display of Mardi Gras costume, exhibits and memorabilia. On the National Register of Historic Places, Grevemberg House Museum is a restored 1851 Greek Revival townhouse with four “Temple of the Winds” Corinthian columns, fine antiques, wallpapers and early artifacts from St. Mary Parish.
